Ms. Michelle Lucci
M.A., C. PSYCH., PSYCHOLOGIST - CLINIC DIRECTOR
Ms. Lucci is a registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario to practice in the area of Clinical Psychology. She has provided psychological assessment and treatment to adults and couples since 2004. Ms. Lucci completed her undergraduate studies at McMaster University and graduate studies at the University of Guelph and the Adler University in Chicago.
Through her work in private practice psychology clinics, Ms. Lucci has acquired extensive experience in providing clinical psychological services utilizing a variety of therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR, relaxation strategies, insight-oriented therapy, as well as interpersonal and emotionally-focused therapeutic approaches.
Clinically, her broad range of experience includes working with clients struggling with mood disorders such as depression; anxiety and phobias; post-traumatic stress disorder; acquired brain injury; adjustment disorders due to disability; grief and bereavement issues; chronic pain management; and relationship difficulties.
Ms. Lucci is a trained trauma therapist who has extensive experience working with complex developmental trauma and also trauma exposed professionals (first responders, medical staff, CAF and veteran populations). In addition to being a treatment provider, Ms. Lucci is a group therapy lead for the Trauma Resiliency Program (TRP) and Couples Overcoming PTSD Everyday (COPE program) both funded by Wounded Warriors Canada. She has worked as a facilitator with the Hamilton Police Services training branch; a facilitator for the Healing Tree program, a group based therapy program providing a safe environment for families to begin to heal after a homicide. She has provided her professional support to Badge Of Life Canada S.O.L.E Sistas program, a retreat program of experiential trauma healing for female first responders.
In late 2016, Ms. Michelle Lucci became the Director of the Cambridge Psychology Centre and now carries on Dr. John Cole's legacy as a community oriented mental health service hub.
Ms. Wilma Veenhof
M.A., C. PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE
Ms. Veenhof completed her undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Guelph and went on to graduate studies at Brock University and the University of Waterloo with a focus on Behavioural Neuroscience (Psychology). She is currently licensed to practice Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology with Children and Adolescents. She is also working under supervision to provide Clinical Psychology services to Adults. In her 15 years of experience, Ms. Veenhof has provided assessment, consultation and therapy services in a variety of settings, including hospitals, school boards, a family health team and private practice. She provides therapy services using a variety of tools and methods, such as strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), neurofeedback training for mindfulness and anxiety reduction, and trauma informed approaches. She typically combines appropriate strategies so that therapy is tailored to the unique needs of each client. She has a wealth of knowledge and skill with neurodevelopmental disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, brain injury, medical conditions, sleep issues, AD/HD and learning disabilities across age groups. Her clients appreciate her warmth, as well as her ability to be straight forward and very approachable. She easily makes her clients feel comfortable and creates a safe space for them.
Dr. Hadi Bahiraei
PH.D., C. PSYCH, PSYCHOLOGIST
With over 20 years of experience in clinical and academic settings, Dr. Hadi Bahiraei is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. He has provided psychological treatment to adults and families since 1996. He applies individual Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy), Emotion-Focused Therapy ,Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Schema Therapy for a range of psychological difficulties such as personality disorders, depression ,stress, anxiety (phobias, trauma, PTSD, and OCD), and health anxiety. He also conducts psychological assessments for a range of emotional and cognitive problems with adults.
Dr. Bahiraei has several academic publications in the fields of Personality Disorders, Physiological Psychology, and Theories of Personality. He has been working with Adler Professional School as an instructor and peer reviewing articles in journal of Psychology of Exceptional Individuals. He speaks English and Farsi (Persian). In his spare time, he enjoys reading, piloting, travel and time with family and friends.
Mr. Săsa Mudrinić
M.A., R.P., C. PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE
Saša Mudrinić (pronounced Sasha) comes to our clinic with previous experience in multi-disciplinary health settings, school boards, and sporting environments. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Research Psychology, a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology and is a PhD(c) in Clinical Psychology. Saša is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
For the past 10 years, Saša has provided psychological treatment to adults that have coped with chronic or long-term challenges. He works from a biopsychosocial perspective and places an emphasis on the interconnected role between our conditioning, social dynamics, our mood, biology, and our functioning in the world at large. His experience includes helping clients with adjustment issues, career transitions, health concerns and changes in lifestyle, coping with fear and anxiety, as well as mood-related changes.
As a former competitive athlete, Saša is also interested in the area of Sports Psychology and has worked in professional environments with athletes. In his spare time, he enjoys working with his hands, sports, travel and time with family and friends. Saša speaks Serbo-Croatian/Bosnian and English.
Ms. Stephanie Hall
M.PSY. THERAPIST
Ms. Hall is a Therapist working under the supervision of Psychologist Michelle Lucci and Psychological Associate Wilma Veen Hof. She recently completed a Masters of Art in Psychology at Adler Professional Graduate School in Toronto. Ms. Hall also holds a Bachelor in Psychology with Children's Education and Development from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a certificate in Concurrent Disorders.
Her clinical experiences include providing psychotherapy at a University Wellness Centre and in a private Integrative Health Centre conducting psychological assessments and psychotherapy. Her interests lie in working with children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health concerns, including: mood, anxiety, addictions, trauma, identity, self-esteem, and body image.
Ms. Hall has a keen interest in the influence of modern technology on mental health and well-being. Her graduate research examined how the adolescent identity development process is evolving in new and challenging ways with online sociocultural contexts like social networking sites.
Her approach to treatment is from an integrative framework with influences from: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness, and Trauma informed models. Ms. Hall has a passion for holistic care and looking at the mind, body, and spirit, together for full healing.
Ms. Krista Gallo
M.A., R.P. (QUALIFYING)
Ms. Gallo is a Therapist working under the supervision of Psychologist Michelle Lucci. She is a Masters prepared clinician having completed her Masters in Counseling Psychology. Ms. Gallo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology.
Her clinical experience includes working in clinical psychological private practice and also working at the Good Shepherd Barrett Centre (Hamilton) providing Mental Health Crisis Support to individuals. Ms Gallo's interests lie in working with adolescents and adults with various mental health concerns including mood, anxiety and trauma.
Ms. Gallo has a strong interest in suicidality among adults. She completed her thesis on the influence of meditation and mindfulness on suicide, and non-suicidal self-harm. Her experience includes helping people who have experienced a trauma within their workplace or personal life. She works with first responders and has experience treating emotional disturbances such as extreme anxiety, anger, and sadness associated with PTSD.
Her approach to treatment is directed towards a biopsychosocial model, looking at different aspects of one’s life. Her framework extends to influences in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Ms. Gallo has a passion for implementing practical approaches in dealing with Psychological Trauma.
Ms. Padideh Badakhshan
MA, RP
Padideh is a Registered Psychotherapist working under the supervision of Psychologist Michelle Lucci. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
She completed her internship in a community setting providing psychotherapy to adults with various concerns related to mood, anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, developmental disabilities, and so on. She has actively been engaged in expanding her knowledge and expertise while working as an independent contractor in private practice settings.
Her approach to treatment stems from holistic and biopsychosocial models which involve understanding human nature and life from various outlooks. She sees each individual as a unique person with unique views and needs, thus she has an integrative framework of treatment with influences from: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Informed, Mindfulness and Client-Centered models.
MR. JOHN SAX
MA, RP (Qualifying)
Upon completing a year long graduate practicum at the Cambridge Psychology Centre, we are pleased to now have John as part of our clinical team. John completed his undergraduate studies in psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University and his Masters of Arts in Psychology from Adler Professional Graduate School. His graduate thesis focused on the experience of emotion, its processing and regulation.
Additionally, he has completed a certificate in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
As John accumulates his hours for certification with the College of Psychologists, his primary focus is providing clinical assessment and psychotherapy to adults. John’s interests lie in working with adults with various mental health concerns including mood, anxiety and trauma. He uses a variety of modalities including: Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Trauma Informed, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Client Centred models.
John is an excellent addition to our clinical team and is keen to build on his already strong clinical skills in treating trauma and mood disorders.
